Air conditioner or air-to-air heat pump?
Both cool and heat. They differ in how well they suit regular heating and how much heat they give in frost.
- Start with the job
If you mainly need summer cooling, compare cooling output, noise and airflow. If you will heat with it in winter, look at the capacity tables for the outdoor temperatures your town actually gets.
- What the operating limit means
If the maker says a unit works down to −25 °C, it still starts and heats in that frost, but not at full rated output. SCOP lets you compare seasonal efficiency under standard conditions. Your electricity bill may differ.
