Where to put the heat pump outdoor unit?
Where the outdoor unit stands decides its airflow, where the water drains, how easy it is to service and how much you hear it.
- Clearances and access
Follow the installation manual for the specific model. The unit needs free airflow, a stable base and room for service. For R290 models the manual also sets safety zones you must keep.
- Water and sound
Plan where the defrost water will drain so no ice forms on paths. Sound power and sound pressure are different figures, so compare them under the same measuring conditions.
